Our candle business story began with making candles in 2022.

 

Well, actually way back further. My Mom made candles when I was a youngster, so I was a little familiar with the process. She initially made them to give us kids as a reward for completing our school work goals (PACE's). But she said with 4 out of 5 kids in school at the time, that didn't last long. That would have been a lot of candles!  I remember a blue and green VW "Bug" candle she made. She colored them by melting down crayon wax. They were adorable.

 

In fact, our colored candles are inspired by my parents. They said, "They need color." "Add some color.", and I obeyed. LOL Our ruby red color is now one of my favorite candles to burn at home. Thanks Mom and Dad. ❤️

I fell in love with the challenge of

creating premium scented wood wick candles. So I made the decision to exclusively make candles with wood wicks. Paul, my husband, and I just love the ambience a wood wick offers.

 

I shared my first candles along the way with friends and family, and I learned (by my mistakes at times.) as I went along.

 

My best friend "Bevie" has helped me make candles. We enjoy fragrance testing together, and she has a nose that knows! She has assisted with sorting which ones are keepers, and has tested several candles as the formula for the best one changes. Thank you Bev! I owe you candles for life.  

So that's where we are today.

 

We intend to use this business as a vehicle to talk about the love and light of Jesus.

 

We have a back story with a mission. My Son, Anthony, who passed away on December 25, 2023 helped me make candles a few times. I cherish the memories. He loved candles just as much as I do! He would take the candles home, light them to the end of the wicks, and melt them clean. He would then hand me his empty containers to refill them. Usually on a weekly basis! I still have a few of those vessels for memories sake.

 

After Anthony passed away, the song, "Jesus The Light Of The World" kept playing in my mind. I knew he was not in this world where darkness exists. He was with THE Light of the World because he had believed! That knowing brought me great comfort. I intend to share his story eventually, and to share the beautiful Good News. His story is a powerful example of God's unfailing love and grace.

As the anniversary of his passing approached, keeping busy with my hands, making candles, and working on building the framework of this business has been very therapeutic. I thank God for the gift of light and scent combined. What a gift.

There's just so many special memories around candle making for me. My grandkids have stood on chairs to help me. What precious times recently with Kaeli, and Bjorn! I intend for that feeling of love to splash over as your light candles in your home.

By the way, my name is Marilou Fry (I am an entrepreneur with ADHD so please bare with me on being all over the place. Of course I am, but we'll get there and get 'er done!), and my husband's name is Paul. We work together as a team to provide a fragrant and relaxing crackling candle for our friends and customers.

​

I custom blend fragrances (most are one of a kind blends) to create wood wick candles, "heart tarts" for wax warmers and "car hearts" which are air diffusers.

 

Paul directs the creation of custom red cedar lids, and our candle production area. He's my overall support system, and also my biggest fan. We really enjoy working together, and we thank God for the gift of one another.

We offer wholesale and custom labeling for shop owners. We also have a fundraising program to help non-profits with their goals.​​​
